We ate a copious amount of steak for charity.
The DFW Restaurant Week 2018 results are in, and the fundraiser looks to have brought in the largest amount to date, raising $890,083 for charity partners the North Texas Food Bank (Dallas County restaurants) and Lena Pope (Tarrant County restaurants). That’s a 12 percent increase from 2017, according to a press release.
Of the more than 150 restaurants that participated in the event that takes place in August every year, 39 were new additions.
“As our largest annual fundraiser, DFW Restaurant Week has enabled us to provide nearly two million meals to hungry North Texans from last year’s campaign alone,” NTFB President & Chief Executive Officer Trisha Cunningham writes in the press release. “It’s a terrific feeling for supporters to know that dining out is also providing nourishing meals for others in need. We are incredibly grateful to the restaurants and diners for their loyal support through DFW Restaurant Week.”
And as for the top-ranking results, they show that when Restaurant Week comes around, Dallasites splurge on steakhouses.
