Why Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in one of the finest
steakhouses in Dallas

Money Inc. | Liz Flynn
July 23, 2019 - If there is any food that Texas is known for, it is its steaks. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that steakhouses are one of the most popular options when people are dining out. Dallas has a vast array of steakhouses from which locals and tourists can choose. Each of these is unique in terms of its menu and vibe. This means that each person will have their own personal favorite steakhouse to visit. Many people believe that Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is one of the finest steakhouses in Dallas, and here are some of the reasons why. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is located on Lombardy Lane in Dallas. There are also two Pappas Bros. Steakhouse locations in Houston. The Dallas location is open between 5 pm and 10 pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and from 5 pm to 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is closed on Sundays.

The Menu
There are many elements of a restaurant that you should consider when deciding whether it is somewhere that you would like to dine. This includes the food, the drink, the atmosphere, the customer service, and the price point. Here, you can find out a little more about each of these elements. In terms of the food offerings, their menu is diverse and the team at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse strive to deliver the best dining experience possible by using only the finest ingredients and preparing the food to order. This means that the dishes combine freshness and quality. Even the desserts served at this steakhouse are homemade on the premises The dinner menu begins with a nice selection of appetizers. These include soup of the day, oysters, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, beef carpaccio, foie gras, a seafood tower, and a selection of cheeses from Texas, amongst other delicious options. Diners can also choose to begin their meal with one of the salads or order a salad to accompany their entrée.

From the entrée menu, the steaks are the highlight and the most popular choice amongst diners. These are cooked to the temperature preferred by the diner, with a beautiful sear that retains the juicy flavor of the beef. The steaks are available in various sizes, and some of the options include prime New York strip on or off the bone, porterhouse, prime filet mignon, Akashi filet mignon, three peppercorn steak, and prime ribeye. Other meat options include lamb chops, veal chops, and lamb rack. If you are not a fan of steak, then you may prefer to order one of the seafood options from the menu. Options include salmon fillet, live Maine lobster, and a duo of filet medallions topped with jumbo crabmeat with a port and bearnaise sauce. To accompany your entrée, you can choose one or more of the side dishes, which includes various vegetables and potatoes, along with mac n’ cheese.

Although the meals are hearty and generous, you should try to save room for one of the desserts as these are what set Pappas Bros. Steakhouse apart from many of the other steakhouses in Dallas. While the desserts are typical of most steakhouses, these are actually made on the premises. Some examples of the desserts available include key lime pie, chocolate turtle tart, chocolate midnight cake, pecan pie, warm peach cobbler, and New York-style cheesecake. Another feature of Pappas Bros. Steakhouse that sets it apart from its competitors is the wine list. This restaurant is considered a wine destination as it is one of only two winners of the Wine Spectator’s Grand Award in Texas. The Dallas location has won this award every year since 2011, while the Houston Galleria location has won this award since 2010.

There is an extensive collection of wines in the cellar at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. This includes more than 3,900 wines that are sourced from some of the finest vineyards around the world. There are staff trained specifically to pair wines with different dishes, so you will always find the perfect wine to accompany your meal. This steakhouse takes pride in its wine collection and they host regular wine tasting events. Therefore, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is the perfect destination for diners who appreciate fine wines. Not everyone who dines out in a steakhouse is a fan of wine, but this is fine as there are plenty more drinks that you can order at this restaurant. They also serve specialist spirits craft beers and inventive artisan cocktails that are created by trained mixologists.

Clearly, the food and drink at this steakhouse are of the highest standard, so it gets full marks in that department. However, what makes a great steakhouse is about so much more than just the food and drinks offerings. The atmosphere and customer service are also key elements of the overall dining experience. According to Zagat, the setting is one that is best-suited to special occasion dining. It has a rather masculine feel to the interior that is typical of many steakhouses. The sophisticated setting contributes to diners’ enjoyment of the food as it turns a simple meal into an occasion. Zagat also notes that the customer service in this restaurant is outstanding.

Final Thoughts
The final point to consider is pricing. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is pricier than many of its competitors, and you can expect to pay around $150 per person for a three-course meal with wine. However, most diners feel that the price is worth it considering the quality of the meal, the fine wines available, and the overall dining experience. On the whole, there are many elements of this steakhouse that make it one of the finest steakhouses in Dallas, and one that you should consider the next time you are dining out for a special occasion. It is also worth noting that there are rooms available at each of the Pappas Bros. Steakhouse locations for private dining and events. These are suitable for a variety of events and for parties of various sizes.
